8m/o male Sheprador (German Shepher/Lab mix) Neutered, microchipped, UTD on shots and dewormer LARGE breed dog, brindle in color Born 4th of July 2020 "Mad Dog" Mattis is an 8m/o male Sheprador. He's very high energy and requires constant supervision right now as he is still just a pup and is learning what he should and should not chew on or chase. Already at 60 pounds, he's going to be much bigger than we had anticipated, and has proven not to be the guardian farm dog we were hoping for, just because his instinct is to chase, not to protect. (Which is great for kids, not for chickens!) Mattis LOVES people. He's sweet and friendly and we've never heard him growl, even while playing with our other dogs. He also loves to chase everything-- children, birds, squirrels, other dogs, people, mail trucks, deer, the neighbor's horses, and our chickens and goats are no exception. (He's only killed one chicken so far, just by chasing her until she croaked.) Also, he sheds like crazy!!! My vacuum cleaner broke because his fur built up in the belt and caught on fire-- so you'll need to vacuum much more often than I do, apparently. Mattis is a sweet dog and has SO MUCH love to give, but he needs room to safely run and play without causing neighborhood feuds or killing farm animals. He has been a snuggler since we brought him home in October and thinks he's still small enough to be a lap dog. He will bury his face in your armpit, behind your back on the couch, and between your legs any chance he gets. We simply cannot give him the attention and training he needs, and he's got the potential to be an incredibly sharp and disciplined dog. Serious inquiries only. A sizable rehoming fee of $500 to help cover the costs of what we've put into him already will be required. (This includes the neuter surgery, vaccines, deworming, lab work, etc that have kept him healthy)
