Answer

DogFinder finds listings of available pets from many different sources including many of the internet's leading classified ad websites as well as a very large and growing social media community network. Posts are shared on numerous pages, websites and device applications. Users are encouraged to contact an owner directly and then visit a pet in person before adopting or paying. Avoid online scams by dealing with people directly, locally, and meeting in person. Do not pay money to people you have not seen or met.

Answer

The fees associated with an adoption could be different depending on post you are interested in. Some dogs are free to a good home. Some owners may charge a small rehoming fee. Others including special and rare breeders may charge a larger fee. Dog Finder itself is free for most posts but some posts require a subscription to contact owners. Subscriptions begin with a free trial and the small donation goes towards making this all work!

Answer

Contact an owner directly by clicking the link on the photo you're interested in. View information on the pet page and click the contact link at the bottom of the post to contact the owner with any questions you may have or for information about how to see the pet and adopt. We strongly recommend calling owners rather than texting or emailing to ensure authenticity but in some cases a phone number may not be provided. Always make sure to escalate the conversation to a phone call and then a meetup in person as soon as possible. NEVER send money to someone you have not met in person.

Some posts may require you so signup in order to access contact information. Follow the steps on screen to signup with Dog Finder for a subscription to contact owners.

Answer

We have many different breeds that are posted every day. We recommend that you follow our Facebook Page and check the page often so that you can receive updates of new dogs that are posted and respond if and when you see the type of dog that you're interested in! Additionally you may visit our website (https://dogfinder.us) and search by breed with features that include searching outside of your city with a desired search radius, to find pets outside of your region.

Answer

Please post the pet directly to our Facebook page. Make sure to include all of the necessary information in the post including adoption information, fees, location of the animal and how to get in contact with you. Include pictures with your post if possible! Then share the post with us or send us a screenshot at least so we know about it and we may share it. Please note: Not all pet posts will be shared and sometimes this could be because you did not include all of the necessary adoption information or photos. Generally, however, most rescue animals needing a home will be shared. If you are a seller, your posts may generally not be shared, but could be if you sign up for our rescue program. You can do so here: https://dogfinder.us/premium -- (If you do signup, please let us know in a message and include your signup email address so we may verify in order to share your post.) Thank you!

Many posts are accessible for free to most users but some require a subscription with DogFinder to contact the owner. You can signup for a subscription here. Donations through subscriptions are what allow us to provide this mostly free service. Thank you so much for your contributions! *Portion of proceeds go towards the Dogs Save the World Rescue Fund
